Blonde Actress - Looks like an FBI agent? Modern movie

So I can vividly see a scene in my mind. This movie is definitely from the 21st century but I couldn't tell you how modern it is.

The actress is blonde and she has slightly bigger teeth and almost bugged eyes. Her hair is shorter and it's up in a ponytail, pulled back. But she has bangs. She's kinda smirking (with her mouth partially opened) and leaning forward in a chair and she's wearing a suit I think. It's almost like she's asking a really sarcastic question and she's like "really?" For the life of me I can't remember the movie or the actress. For some reason my first though was "Zero Dark Thirty" but that definitely wasn't it.

When you say bugged eyes, do you have a reference photo by chance? I am looking at blonde actress pictures, but the eyes thing is throwing me
Was it curly or straight hair?
Was this a comedy, or a more serious movie, drama, etc.? When was it made, or when did you see it?
I think it might have been a comedy? I saw it more recently but it was on TV. By bugged eyes I mean that her eyes were a bit more noticeable than on other people? Not sure how to describe it. Her mouth was definitely a more defined feature. Think of a Natalie Dormer smirk/smile.
How about "A Stranger Among Us" with Melanie Griffith who plays a detective. It was made in 1992.
