Help me find the name of this movie please

I'm looking for the name of a sci-fi movie that aint new anymore, somewhere from the 80's, 90's or early 00's

I've seen it last many years ago, can't remember a single actors name.

 

From what I can remember somewhere in the beginning of the movie the male protagonist is walking through a corridor when a woman who's passing him by scratches his hand with a sharp object.

Later it turns out this gave him some kind of virus or illness that he would only survive for the next (couple of) days.

He is to complete a mission for the bad guys in order to get the antitode and live.

Later in the movie it turns out the virus was actually just a common flu or something.

 

Can't remember much more from it I'm afraid.

Escape from L.A. seems unlikely, but I'll have a good look at Escape From New York, thanks for the suggestion! :-D
