Romance, female name Tess? bcoms preg with twins. title of book pos close to females'name.

Romance, the problem comes is that I was sure the book was named Tess after the female or soemthing like that, maybe it was the author

The leads, a female  artist ? who is named Tess? has a one nighter with male. Becomes preg with twins?

The man is very superficial? Loaded, a player with a very stuffy family?. Scenes in hotel ballroom.

They don't marry, female refuses. Lots of comedy, sadness.

Infact I don't think Tess even tells him she pregs. He finds out somehow.

Man character really develops as the book proceeds.

she lives in a cottage of some sort?

very not the stuffy type? bohemian.

There are just some things that won't leave your mind. This book keeps popping up like a bad dream, really want to find its name so can reread and get it out of my head once and for all.

If I remember, it was actually a good read.

The book is 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles' and the 1979 movie based on it is simply called Tess. Enjoy your re-reading of it.

It is a more modern book than that. It is not one of the classics but just a book in the romance genre, which is why it has been impossible for me to find.
Thank you for answering though.
i had a sudden breakthrough and with help from a friend found the answer. thanks to everybody who tried.
