Young girl alone in Paris (or some other French city) having the time of her life while people are trying to find her

I saw this movie in the mid 80s as a kid but it might be older than that. The only thing I can remember rather clearly is that the movie ends with someone asking the girl what she did while she was gone and she answers something like "I got older".

So the movie is about a kid who either escapes from her guardian who she doesn't like very much or just "gets lost" but enjoys all the different places in Paris (or whatever French city she is in) and has the time of her life while other people are desperately trying to find her. I think there were some short chase periods there, but they might have been random encounter people.

And I think the movie was all French.
