Man wakes up thousands of years in the future when unburied from stasis tube.

Man wakes up thousands of years in the future when unburied from stasis tube and ends up getting in the middle of a conflict between two groups. The movie ends when the "bad" guys are wiped out by a nuclear explosion (caused by the protagonist) and he decides to join the pacifists.

I think the movie was made between 1950-1980. I remember it being in colour and it has an HG Wells kind of feel to it.

Nope...the single person is definitely frozen on earth and remains on earth until unburied...and I don't think it was John Saxon...I also remember that the other side had like these pain stick things that were like wands...
I really think it is "Genesis II". If you expand the second review on imdb, it talks about it being Earth, the pain sticks, and Alex Cord being the actor.
Yep, you're right it is G2! Thx!
