Old B&W film where a man's wife and mistress meet

All I can remember about this movie is it looked to be 1940's/1950's era. A man who came from a party was drunk and wearing a tux climbed up to the balcony of the main female character's home. The man who she was having an affair with had a wife and baby and his mom lived with them. I think the wife and baby were sick with colds and his mom was worried she woyld get sick. His mom was very opinionated about how the baby was treated/how the house needed to be kept up and this irritated his wife.  People affiliated with both wife and mistress set up for them to meet over lunch or dinner for some unknown reason.
