Old movie about a blind woman

I think it was B&W

A man woos and marries a blind woman then tries to isolate her from her friends and kill her, making it look like an accident.

On their honeymoon, he convinces her to go swimming with him then leaves her to drown.

They have a party and she puts her drink down on a piano. Her husband moves the glass so when she goes to make a toast, she knocks the glass over

Unbeknown to him, she has an operation to get her sight back

In the finale, her husband has her climbing an unfinished staircase in the hopes she'll fall to her death but she opens her eyes at the last minute.

Maybe "Madness Of The Heart"(1949) starring Margaret Lockwood. Some of your details are a little different, but it sounds like it could be it.

You can watch the full movie here....
