Earthquake movie--kid dies

I've been searching for the name of a disaster movie for a while now. I watched it 5 years ago or more ago, so it's not anytime recent. The premise I remember it starting off with a sex scene, the wife/husband go to bed stripping is seen, but no nudity/juicy stuff.  They wake up in the middle of the night to the house shaking. They grab their kids there was at least two I believe, maybe only one. Just when the Earthquake stops they're looking around and they see that one of them is missing. The little boy he went back in the house for a stuffed animal, and before anything can be done an aftershock hits, and part of the house collapses, (I think it was the chimney) but a bunch of bricks fall-- crushing him to death.

They then move to New York where more earthquakes plague them. And that's all I can remember about it. Thank you in advance to anyone who helps me out. I've searched Google/IMDB and the only ones that pop up are Aftershock and Earthquake, both of which are not it I don't think.

I dug for you, but came up empty so far, except for this further explanation of the scene, that may jog someone's memory....

Could it have been not an earthquake?
That Reddit comment is spot on, I think he/she is looking for the same movie I am. I'm pretty sure it was an Earthquake. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure.
