Two adults see each other in the future, and apologize for the past.

In the future as adults ,A guy is out looking for a person he thinks he wronged(at school he hung him up a flagpole from his boxers and everyone was laughing at him) so he could apologize to him because he feels bad that the guy now is sick (I think blind , or has cancer). And in doing so he finds out that all along the role was reversed, in reality it was the sick guy that wronged the first guy in the first place. The first guy just kept telling people (in defense and embarrassment) that he hung up the other guy. He kept telling that lie until he himself believed it. I just like the moral of this movie. But I can't remember it. I think one of the guys names was jack or John. But the whole story isn't just about this. This was just a scene.
