70's or early 80's movie that had a laser weapon. Some guy was running away from the laser knowing he had a tracking device on him. I think it was in his tie. Probably a TV movie.

I don't know why, probably because I was young and thought it was cool, but this image reappears every now and again.  I need to know what it is.

Not Logans Run. Great movie though.
The weapon in the movie wasn't a hand gun but more of a large stationary device.
Definitely not Laserblast.  Thanks for the effort.
That looks sooo bad that it's probably actually that bad. :)
Hi Richcoll, I changed my answer. Would you please let me know if I got it this time? You were right about that other movie looking shitty, but I think it was a series based on that pilot! It looks pretty cheezy as well(lol)!

"A Man Called Sloane" (1981 TV series)?

Episode: "Masquerade of Terror"

I changed my answer, but this was a series based on the pilot movie "Death Ray 2000". It had a different star, Robert Conrad. This episode is available on YouTube in 4 parts, but I posted the 4th part and if you go to 6:20 of the video below, I think this might be the scene?

You can watch the movie on YouTube in 10 parts.
Good effort Cinemanster, but not the one I was thinking of.
That looks pure sh1te by the way. :)
Goodness me, 10 out of 10 for effort and also for pushing A man called Sloane.
It ticked some of the boxes, but ultimately it's not the correct one, although at this stage I might just accept that as being the one so I can finally sleep.
I'm fairly certain the military were involved in the movie I'm thinking of, and the road is in a bit of a desert area.
Good work.
ok. Wow, this is a tough one. I think laser cannons were a popular motif in the '80s! It may have been a movie or series that 'borrowed' the idea from this one, but I will research some more.
