80s movie involving a giant and puppets

The plot was: A girl gets somehow transported to a parallel world, and is instructed to find a giant in this world who is capable of returning her to her own. Her companion on the journey to find the giant is a smallish puppet.
at the end of the movie, we see the gadget the giant gave her that returns her to her world. and it looks like a bedazzled calculator.

The film seemed low budget, and was made around the 80's-90's. It was live action, and puppets were a standard feature. (I think the giant himself was a puppet.)
I'm roughly sure there was at least one if not two Musical number during this,
I'm strongly sure this wasn't labyrinth or neverending story.
and I have a vague memory of this having christian overtones, but it might not have.
I seem to remember the name of the giant being part of the title.

The argon quest. It's based on a series called blizzard island. Only the two kid leads are live action. The main bad guys are a snake and a witch. They need to find the giant argon to return his necklace.
