Name of two different movies

The first movie is about a young lady who works in a lab and she notice that the weather is getting hotter. Her lab is old and they gave the new lab to someone else. The weather is steady getting hotter. It is so hot that even in the parking garage it is hot.

The second movie is about this young lady who was working on an oil rig and it explodes. They blame her for the accident and now she is on the run and she looks for this young man who I believe use to play on Dawson's Creek. The weather is getting worse and hails falls. That is all I can remember. I hope someone can help me.
