Animated animals 90's film involving a young boy fox who ends up getting tricked into working for a factory which he later escapes. Has an evil fox aunt who desperately wanted a niece, not a nephew.

May have been a made-for-tv movie my grandma recorded on VHS. It's drawn animation and all animals wear clothes and walk on two legs. The main characters are foxes, but I think there must be other animals involved. Main character meets a conman who tricks him into working in his factory. He makes friends there and escapes by messing with some factory gears. The only other thing I distinctly remember is a song or scene in the beginning where the main character's aunt complains about his birth because she really wanted a niece, and had bought dresses and toys for her already.

What threw me off is that you said they the main character was a fox, but I am almost positive that it is the 1993 animated adaptation of David Copperfield;
