TV/Movie? - Boy servant becomes apprentice, has a cane, and was somehow burned.

I remember seeing this movie/show (I can't remember, but it was playing on television when I was younger.) It was fantasy with a boy that was a servant perhaps.. All I remember is that he liked snotty girl who he accompanied as she chased fireflies. She fell and twisted her ankle and it began raining. The boy picked her up and carried her back (without a shirt on, I think he bound her ankle) and a Fiona Shaw look-a-like older lady was all hot and bothered and asked the boy a question. He said "at your service" and when he walked away the woman was all pleased and said, "ah, at my service!" The girl who was hurt started to like the boy but somehow he was burned? I don't remember if was done intentionally or by a mythical animal. The boy grew older and became reclusive and had a cane at some point. The plot was much bigger than their romance but that's all my goofy brain could seem to actively remember .
I never ACTUALLY got to see the movie/show because my family isn't into fantasy based stories and I was too young at the time to make requests of the television. This has been driving me crazy for YEARS.
The young servant boy reminded me of Jamie Campbell Bower although I think he was too young to have been the teenage servant I'm thinking of. I looked through IMBD and couldn't find anything either. Let me know if anyone recognizing the scene I -attempted- to describe!
