Black and White Mystery - Moving Rooms, Woman Victim

I used to watch a lot of old mystery movies with my family when I was younger. Lately, I've been trying to remember some of the movies, and I have been stuck on one. I THINK it was black and white, possibly from the 40's... The only color I remember from the movie is the dark red lipstick that the woman used to try and mark where she'd been in the house. She is the victim. There were only 2 people that I remember in the movie. The woman who was trapped in the house and a man who was watching her. She'd walk through doors and end up in the same room she had been in before. There was one spinning room with an owl that watched her. There was a man (I think) hiding in the house who was messing with her. I don't remember much more, except that she put the pieces together and ended up finding where the man was hiding and had been watching her. I really want to find this movie. Please help me.
