80s/90s Sci-fi thriller?

There is a scene where an adult man and a young girl, in medical robes, sit, in an old truck, on the train tracks, while a train approaches.

The man kills the engine and throws the keys out of the driver side window. The young girl runs out to retrieve the keys and does.

She returns them to the man, who in turn throws them out of the window again. This is all that I remember.

If you're still looking for this movie it's based on a Dean R. Koontz book called

"Sole Survivor"(2000)with Billy Zane.

You can watch the full movie here, but the train scene is at about 2:42.00
