Married couple lives near or in the woods, the wife is afraid of a witch-like woman nearby

Country of origin: I think Europe.

A man marries a rich woman and they start to live together near or in a forest.
There is an old woman in the forest, she's portrayed like a witch and the wife is afraid of her. The husband kills this old woman probably by pushing her off a cliff and she turns out to be just an ordinary old woman.
The wife dies in an accident involving horses.
Later it turns out that the man had a secret lover all along.
He makes plans to renovate the house and he hires an old friend to do this.
The husband thinks that this old friend once in the past saved a mutual friend of theirs but it turns out that it was the opposite, the old friend in fact killed the mutual acquaintance  - by letting him fall from a high place instead of gripping him - and what gives him away is that the husband sees him wearing a golden watch that belonged to the deceased.

I've seen it with Hungarian dubbing and it's probably not older then 30 years.
The husband looked somewhat like Nolan Gerard Funk.
