There's a record version of Cocaine Blues that I heard in the UK in1966 (prior to the much more recent Keith Richards and Bob Dylan recordings) , on what might have been a 10" disc and might have been turning at 16 r p m.
My memory of it definitely includes the defining line "Cocaine, ...all around my brain".
I have always thought it was by Josh White, which was who I thought I'd been told it was at the time (we were all fairly "out of it", but not on cocaine). However, I can't find any mention of Josh White together with Cocaine Blues.
Does anyone know what other recordings, on a fairly old style disc, might have existed at that time - it could even have been pre-World War II recording.
