Who had a hit with this record?

I think this original song was about a horse?  Later in the 70s somebody had a major hit with this song but changed the title from Brandy (carrots are a girls best friend) to Mandy.

Hi Jarod, it's probably me but I think you may have given your correct answer as a comment. If you find above Edit Hide Answer Comment and select Answer you can then then repeat your answer which will create a yellow/gold small rectangular box. Once this appears I can select it and you will get 20 points. Don't worry I am still getting use to this.
