Can anyone tell me the name of this early 80s kids film?

I have searched for this movie for years and can't find it,all I can remember is that i must have watched it around 1979-82 at the latest and the only things I can remember was at the end they were on or next to a big ship being chased by the bad guys and the hero shot a gun that fired marbles and they all slipped over and the only other thing I can remember and this might be the most helpful is that a zany ginger guy with glasses flew a gyrocopter with loads of weapons and which had a union jack paint job
That's all I can think of its getting to a point where I'm not even sure if I'm making this up in my own head.

I suspect, from researching this, if it was a gyrocopter and not a helicopter, this may have been a european film. What makes you think it was a kids movie? In all actuality, it might have been a tv episode, but even the autogyro fan sites don't list it. Can you think of anything else.
It was like a gyrocopter but it definitely wasnt a helicopter but a gyrocopter was the closest thing i could think of.The reason i thought it was a kids movie was from what i could think about the film it seemed a kids movie plus i was only about 8-10 year old when i watched it.I thought id seen it at the cinema but im now starting to wonder if i did or was it a TV episode or a dubbed european movie.I cant remember anything else about the film at all im afraid but appreciate your help.
