Woman with long, brown, straight hair, either plays mother or teacher. Middle aged? Pretty, but not super skinny. The show/movie is about a family, the woman in question is concerned about a boy from the family.

I've had this vivid picture in my mind all night. The woman is white, short, has long, brown, straight hair, an oval face, kind of squinty eyes, she's a bit older and not fat, but not thin either. She's either a teacher or a mother. I can picture her talking in a sitting and standing position wearing a black pant suit and a big ring on her finger. She's concerned about someone in the scene, talking to another parent possibly, but I can't picture any other actors next to her. I have a strong feeling the movie or TV show is about a family. It's more recent, in the past few years. (2012-2016) I know this is impossibly vague but that is literally all I can remember and it's driving me crazy!
