90s Movie crime thriller set in a high school thats ends with spiders

I have spent years searching and can't seem to find this movie I watched a long time ago, I'm almost thinking I made it up. It would have been around 2000-2005 that I watched it, but its possible its as old as the 80s. My memory is a little hazy but from what I can remember it starts with some teens dying at a high school so a detective either ask the daughter (possibly teenage) of a retired detective to go undercover to check it out. or its her whole family that are detectives including possibly a brother, but I don't remember. The middle of the movie is just her searching for a reason why people are dying or who is killing them, but there is one scene that's stuck with me. I believe its an Emo looking guy who passes out, but we see from his perspective that when he does, he is seeing everything blurry and turning white until the whole screen is white. The thing I remember the most about this movie is the ending when she finds out that no one is killing them and it was actually an accident by a group of nerd whos spiders (possibly genetically modified) got out and have been biting students making them sick or die. There is also a scene that shows vents stuffed with spider webs but I'm not sure when in the movie it is. I have no ideas on what the title of the movie may be but if anyone knows what movie this is, or even a movie that sounds similar, or has a clip in it that is similar to one of the ones I've described, I will check out anything suggested just to prove to myself I'm not crazy or making it up.

Sounds similar to "Hangman's Curse"

"Bullying students are becoming deathly ill after screaming the name of a legendary ghost. What's to blame? An exotic illness? An illicit drug? Or is it the supernatural? The clues are few and time is running out for the students of Rogers High School. The only hope is the Veritas Project, a highly trained investigative team working undercover to expose the truth. Lives hang in the balance as they scramble to unravel the mystery and protect the student body from their own hatred and fear."

I just checked and unfortunately its not the movie but thanks for suggesting it!
