Hunting season is over quote, cabin in woods, woman's dog dies

Hi. So this is the best description I have:

I'm pretty sure it's late 90s early 2000s-ish.

A woman goes to a cabin in the woods with her dog 'to get away from it all' I think, she takes her dog with her. It's autumn time, and it's just outside some really small town in America I think. As she is getting to the cabin, a man startles her and asks her what she is doing there as 'hunting season is over' although I think he has a rifle. Woman meets hunky man, whose mother owns a store (hardware kinda shop). But then this lady's dog ends up dead, killed by something. I think it's a few creatures, rather than one monster. Chaos ensues, monsters after humans, they drive into town to check hunky guys mum is okay but some of the thing us are there and attack mum, not sure if she lives or dies.

I don't even think it was that brilliant of a film but NO ONE believes it's a real film, can someone please help!

No monsters, I think,  but it has a woman who goes to a cabin with her dog.
I've been banging on about this movie for atleast 10 years so not this one but thanks (: and I definitely think there are monsters in it.
