Looking for a mini series about a jewish family and their struggles during WWII

I've watched this a loong time ago and forgot many details, but I know for a fact that it has more than one part (episode) so no, it's not Sunshine from 1999. I remember that they tried to escape from (I think) Poland or Germany and get to France through the woods in some kind of carriage. They succeeded and stayed at a beach house (can't remember if that's the ending or not). They had a few kids, probably 2 or 3. The father kept getting arrested and interogated by the nazis, but he always came back. I vaguely remember a scene where the mother argues with the father (I believe one of them cheated) on some stairs that led to their private garden.

I don't really know if it's a mini series or a movie with 2 or 3 parts, so sorry for not being very specific. It also did not look that old to me and the actors did not seem to be very famous or anything. I believe it might be some european movie that isn't that popular so I think that's why I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
