Young kid falls off playground equipment and lands on his face

This is an 80s american movie. It's a single dad, taking care of his young son. He's seeing a woman. At one point, she walks out of the bathroom in her bra, runs into the little kid and gets a shock. Later, the kid is climbing on some playground equipment and lands on her face. Camera pans into the kid lifting his bloodied face, crying for his dad. Dad comes running, scoops the kid up and you see him running through the streets carrying his son. You see the kid in the hospital with his face all bandaged up. That's as much as I saw.

Here is a part of the plot summary from Wikipedia describing the scene where the boy falls on his face:

"Ted befriends his neighbor Margaret (Jane Alexander), who had initially counseled Joanna to leave Ted if she was that unhappy. Margaret is a fellow single parent, and she and Ted become kindred spirits. One day, as the two sit in the park watching their children play, Billy falls off the jungle gym, severely cutting his face. Ted sprints several blocks through oncoming traffic carrying Billy to the hospital, where he comforts his son during treatment."
