Old movie where bristish explorers where against indian sect hiding underground

Old movie where bristish explorers where against an indian sect hiding underground but they found the access to the underground refuge it was a bark door in a big tree in the forest (jungle). Explorers where using boats on a small river just before finding the access and they were wearing pith (safari)  hats . Ounce inside the access they had to face collapsing floors, fire. Indiana Jones style. I saw that movie at the theatre in the early sixties in north america.

I may have found the title. "The Mystery of Thug Island" from 1966. This book preview on Google Books describes the part with the secret entrance at least, so I guess it might be the movie you are looking for:

I think it is the movie I'm looking for. Strangely I can't find a video on internet about this movie and the dvd whas not remasterized even if you can find many posters and links about this movie on the internet.  If you are looking at the synopsis it fits my description.

I found that the "The Mystery of Thug Island" from 1966 (1964 in Italy) was a remake of the 1954 "Mystery of the Black Jungle ". I think it is this version I saw.

Thank you.
