Comedy/romance, a man tracking down a woman in Africa (?)

Date: I guess 1980-1995
Genre: Comedy, romance, adventure.
Country of origin: Don't know.
Soundtrack: It features The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

It's one of those comedies that's driven by the idea of a highly domesticated person having to cope with being out of his element.
The domesticated person is a man from a big city, who always carries a chiming (?) briefcase and he is trying to track down a blond (?) woman in Africa (?).
He hires a local black man as a guide. They are camping outside. Once the guide freaks him out by telling him that giant ants might crawl on him while he's asleep.
There is a scene when they are visiting a local tribe and the guy has to enter a tent not knowing that his ear will get ritually pierced inside.
The woman drives a Jeep Wrangler with an open top.
It ends with the woman and the man falling in love.
It's not Krippendorf's Tribe (1998).
