An older guy starts to take boxing lessons and becomes a formidable fighter

Country of origin: I think the U.S. or the U.K.
Date: I think 1980 and up.

The protagonist is a divorced Caucasian guy, he has two little daughters.
One day in a bar he verbally offends a local gangster and he gets beat up while his two daughters are watching.
After that, he decides to take boxing lessons, it turns out that he's got talent, he becomes a great fighter and takes revenge on the gangster.
The story might take place in England.

It's not Goldie and the Boxer (1979) or The Champ (1979).
