00s / 90s animated film - Cinderella with laser guns?

I remember watching an animated film prior to 2010. I think it was a western 2D animation, not anime (but I am not sure), most likely from the 2000s or 1990s. I remember the plot was almost like Cinderella with a modern twist to it. The characters and the scenery were fairytale-like, but I distinctly remember the royal (?) soldiers marching through the forest with laser guns, trying to attack or get the prince.
