Hoping to find a lost movie title please

I believe the category is Sci-Fi. I believe the era is late 80s to 90s. American cinema made. All I remember is a scene in a bowling alley. Someone whips out their hands in front of themselves as if they are very angry. Arms are extended fully forward at chest level outwards from the body. Hands are fingers up palms out. A bowling ball is shot down the lane as if a huge gust of wind is the only thing making it roll. It moves so fast tho that the pins when they are hit are demolished into so many tiny bits that fly out everywhere.
I apologize because this is all that I remember. My daughter has been hounding me for months about that scene. I've looked but I am having no luck. If you are able to help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

My first thought was "Fright Night 2" except, when I watched the scene on YouTube, the pins never shatter though the big man does roll two bowling balls with great force.
