Blood-filled bathtub with man pulling out woman's guts and throwing them in a silver bowl?

I remember this scene: A blonde man, fairly built, is sitting infront of a tub. In the tub is a dead woman, and the tub is full of blood. The man is pulling out her guts and throwing them in a silver bowl to the right of him. A dog, I think a golden retriever, is to the right of the bowl watching and sniffing the bowl occasionally.
So far, I haven't found anything like this. I'm sorry if it was just a dream.

Almost certain you're describing one of the brain/dream sequences in "The Cell" where the antagonist is lamenting his failed efforts - with his white wolf/husky close to hand.
