French 90's film about 2 girls who run away or road-movie, but a 1 point film breaks the 4th wall and director interacts with characters? [closed]

Saw this movie in the cinema in between 1991-1994 and again on VHS. Could have been released in France before this.

Thought it was an Artificial-Eye release, but can't find it on their back catalogue list.

The scene I remember most has the two main teenage girls walking along railway tracks and the director talks to them, as characters, off screen. Then the camera turns and shows the whole crew as he talks to these girls.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would write an email to artificial eye, asking them about it, if you think it could be theirs. I did look at their site, and it may not be on there, because it may not have been released on dvd or Blu-ray. They may still know though. It may be the fastest route.
Think I may have tracked it down. Sounds interesting actually... "merci la vie" http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0102436/
FANTASTIC, you've found it. Total genius.
