Newer horror movie where cross-country skiers get terrorized by supernatural events

Set on a cross-country ski trip with four friends. Not long into it one of the girls decides she's not having any fun and leaves to go back and stay at the hotel. The others continue and have a series of odd events (seeing strange lights at night and having some of their equipment completely vanish). They end up getting kind of lost and at the end of the movie they finally get back to a road and have a ton of voicemails from the girl. It turns out there was an alien invasion while they were gone.

That's definitely not Devil's Pass... completely different.
Although, it's a great horror movie.. scared the crap out of me. I recommend it.
Could it be "The Invasion of the Animal People" or "Terror in the Midnight Sun"
The questioner said it is a newer movie, and I don't think there were mobiles and voicemails in the 50's, so "The Invasion of the Animal People" (1959) is probably not the right movie.
I do love Devil's Pass but no, that's not it.  I know it was/is on Netflix or Amazon Prime if that helps.
You're absolutely right, I misread the question.
This could be the plot of an Archie's Comics book involving Archie, Reggie, Betty, and Veronica as they too sometimes fight a Scooby-Dooish type setting/conclusion/scary
