Cartoon movie with round headed boy in a world of pointy headed people, blue skinned if I remember correctly '80s

I watched a cartoon movie around 1986-1989 with I believe a blue-skinned race of pointy headed people onto which a round headed child was born (Please read further understanding that I may not correctly remember the situation.  The boy may have been pointy headed and the reast may have had round heads) . Eventually he was exiled, went on journy, and later returned to his village and he was welcomed or something.  I remember a montage with a church steple or building top turning from pointy to round, or vis-a-versa.

Everytime I search for this online I get Conehead results from the SNL skit and it's derivatives, so hopefully you all can help me find this!

Good job and once again thank you VHS, answer away and get your further kudos.

I see where I got the blue skinned idea from, but goodness if that red skin wasn't glaring from what clips I've seen online.
