Horror Movie from 80's - 90's HELP!

Good evening!

I've been stratching my head for days now over this sodding film!

I must have been about 7 when the film as rented from the old video store, so the film could be from the 80's - 90's.

The general plot from what I can vaguely recall was that a few people enter a mansion, for what reason I cannot remember, and are basically terrorised by a clown doll / jester type thing! The scene that I remember most vividly was one of the people died via means of the floor opening up and being burned alive in some sort of acid - that looked like milk!

My memory isn't what it used to be but I am sure there is a monkey toy with clapping cymbals involved, and a barking dog (perhaps)!

The closest I could find to the film by googling etc was this UNANSWERED post here:

Thanks in advance!
