Suburban setting, Aged black bar owner, Three women in different stages of relationships.

There's a narrator's voice in the beginning of the movie...with the video of a river. I guess the title also has 'RIVER'  in it. The story is about how three women cope with their relationships with men : one who is about to get married fears the very idea of becoming pregnant, the second has a disturbed marriage being unable to attract the attention of her husband and the third who is now separated (?) Major parts of the movie are set in a bar owned by an aged black man in a village or suburban town. Not a popular movie I guess, no big actors, probably from what is called the 'parallel cinema' , from the 90's or early 00's.
