2000s, DVD-cartoon, Flying Islands, Flying Ships, Planes, Sky Pirates, Ship-monster + tip

Pls, help me find a cartoon-movie I watched, when I was kid - I had DVD with this film, if I remember right, it was 3D, and it set in a world of flying islands, it was about a boy, lost his parents and from mysterious flying monster. Flying islands, flying ships - all this stuff. Main hero trained with other kids to pilot planes, fighting some kind of sky pirates. There was also a lovestory and also in the end of a movie, there was a twist - monster killed parents of main protagonist was a big ship, piloted by an old man.
