Need name of live action Christmas musical

There was a live action Christmas musical about a boy doll who goes through a toy store and meets up with all sorts of different toys, even battling classic robot toys.  He meets a girl doll he falls in love with and they go to finish the journey together.  somewhere near the end there's a man throwing the toys into a furnace, and kids raid the place and save many toys, but thedolls get left behind for whatever reason. Then you see the dolls picked up by a white gloved hand in a red suit (Santa Clause).  This movie musical was possibly broadcast on TV in the late 80's or early 90's.

I discovered the name of the movie to be Quincy's Quest.  Aired originally in 1979, but had been rebroadcast in the US during the holidays from the mid to late 80's.  It is sometimes listed as "Tommy Steele's - Quincy's Quest"
